Kazoo Holder

These are 4 different kazoo holders that I designed to keep the mouthpiece from getting dirty during travel or so you don't have to lay it down on a dirty surface. it's a nice little stand to slide a kazoo in for storage. let's say you want to bring your kazoo somewhere so you stuff it in your pocket. it then gets dust and stuff on your mouthpiece and the kazoo becomes kind of gross. This problem won't occur if you first slide the kazoo into the holder before you put it in your pocket and the mouthpiece stays nice and clean.

The basic holder

The basic holder is the one without the hooks coming out of the top. It comes in two tolerances. The one with loose tolerances of 0.4 on all sides is labeled basiclt at the end of the name. The one with tighter tolerances of 0.2 on all sides is labeled basictt at the end of the name. This one has nothing holding it on to the hook so if you just stick this in a bag or something it will fall off however when I printed the tighter tolerance one it did stay on with just friction. This will vary according to how tuned in the printer is so I can't guarantee that yours will stay on like mine. It is far easier to just slide the kazoo into this basic one and it can be done one handed pretty easily. this is the biggest benefit over the hooked one as it slides straight in and out without any difficulty at all. This can be printed upright if you wanted but I have it oriented to print on its side so that it is consistent with the hooked one that has to be printed on the side.

The hooked holder

The hooked one has two hooks coming out of the top that holds the kazoo in. It comes in two tolerances. The one with loose tolerances of 0.4 on all sides is labeled hooklt at the end of the name. The one with tighter tolerances of 0.2 on all sides is labeled hooktt at the end of the name. This has two hooks that go around the ring of the kazoo and this holds the holder on the kazoo quite securely. You could throw this one in a bag and it would stay on very well and you don't have to worry about the cover coming off at all. The big caveat to the hooks is the ease of use. It will take both hands and most of your attention to get into the hole with the hooks there. The hooks have two small notches on them that are used to keep the ring aligned when putting it in and they make it far easier to slide into it. The hooks do require some force to get the kazoo into but I am not worried about them breaking. they are pretty sturdy. when I print this I make it so the hooks have full infill and I have not tried out the hooks when not solid but there is no reason why it wouldn't work about the same so you can print the hooks at whatever infill you want. This one has to be printed on its side for the hooks to work so be aware of that.

Printing material

I only have pla and have not made this with any other material but it should still work just fine with abs or petg or something like that. That will probably cause the hooks to have different levels of bendability for the hooked one but it shouldn't cause any problems. I really don't have and preference on infill so you can do whatever infill you want. just know that if you do the hooked one it will change how bendy the hooks are. As far as supports, they are not needed but you can use them. There is a 10 degree overhang where it will droop a little without supports but it doesn't affect the usability of the model and is fine. If you choose the hooked one the end of the hooks where the nubs are have some flat overhangs but they are very small and it doesn't affect the model's usage at all. You can rotate the one without hooks to be upright if you want but the hooked one has to be printed on its side for the hooks to work.

me

I am a 14 yr old beginner designer with not much skill currently using openscad. I did make one model in Microsoft paint. I like fidget toys a lot.

video

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/pVyIrklCITc"></oembed>
