A fantastic working 3D printed kazoo by PistonPin, who let me upload it to Printables for him. (If you ever create your own account here, let me know and I'll re-assign the model to you :))

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/MvZymtnfDwk?t=438"></oembed>

Membrane

For the membrane, you can use a piece of thin plastic (for example, from a shopping bag) or vax paper. The choice of the membrane material significantly affects the sound of the Kazoo. Really thin membranes will make the sound more intense with pronounced highs. Thicker membranes will make the buzzing sound deeper and a bit quieter.

You will have to cut out a small circular piece from the membrane material. We suggest using the printed washer as a template to cut it out. Then you just put in the membrane, the washer and secure it with the printed nut.

Assembly

Simply insert the membrane, the washer and lastly the lock nut. The membrane needs to be held in tightly without any gaps, so it might take you a few tries to get it right.

Hum not blow!

If this is the first Kazoo you'll try, you might try to blow into the kazoo and think that it doesn't work. You just have to do a humming sound instead :)
