Keezer (Keg/Tap/Beer) Controller/Scale

Keezer (Keg/Tap/Beer) Controller/Scale

Several years back I saw a system at a local bar that indicated how much beer was left on their many taps. After building my own keezer (beer tap for my homebrews) and subsequently getting back into mechatronics projects, I got inspired to build a similar system. It morphed through the past couple years and with the addition of a kiddo the idea of also being able to shutoff the taps when I wasn’t entertaining got incorporated. Ultimately, I ended up with a system that does the following: • Weighs each of my 5 kegs, letting me know how full each is and when I need to start brewing another batch. • Weighs the CO2 tank that carbonates them all, letting me know when I’ll need to swap it out soon. • Measures the pressure (PSI) of the gas lines after the first regulator, letting me know when the tank is completely empty (lets me squeeze out the last little-bit of CO2 in the tank rather than replacing it when it’s low). • Operates solenoids on each of the 5 taps, allowing me to only have them open when I want to pour a beer (primarily for kid and baby-sitter proofing, but also great to avoid accidental leakage). • Measures the temperature in the keezer. • Turns on LEDs at the tap area as well as a computer monitor (the monitor displays all of the data collected by the system as well as the beer menu). In addition to being applicable for this specific project, the scale could be used (with or without editing) for loads of different projects. Only the 3D printed parts are included here on Thingiverse. The full tutorial is located here: https://hackaday.io/project/167023-keezer-kegtapbeer-controller I have included the STLs as well as the original Fusion 360 file and a STEP file to make mods easy for those who would like to. If you print, please post a make as I'd love to see how yours turns out! Also, any feedback is appreciated!
