Kel-tec RDB Handguard

Kel-tec RDB Handguard

The Kel-Tec RDB is a great rifle but suffers from a handguard that has about 1mm of movement and looks terrible. This was a small project to see if I could make an alternative hand guard that would improve the aesthetics and have a better fit. I went through a couple iterations and ended up with this version. I've included the design files if you'd like to see the other versions. This fits very snugly over your standard Kel-tec RDB and uses a 6x38mm or 1/4 x 1(1/2) clevis pin to secure the handguard in place. In my opinion, I think this gives the rifle better lines and fits a lot better with zero movement. Unfortunately the mounting point is the gas block, so after about 50 rounds the best high temp filament will start to soften. I did look at getting it machined but the cost exceeded that of the Irish Industries Raptor Rail so I purchased one of those instead. If you're lucky enough to have access to a CNC machine, knock yourself out!
