Hosted by Quantum Link for the C64, Habitat was an open world which could support 10,000 users simutaneously. There was a world currency, objects, customizable avatars and a blog/newspaper. Each user had a house or appartment that could store objects. Text chat was used for communication. All this was expensive. 9.95 /mo and 8 cents /min while online. Habitat ran from 1986-88.
