Many users have observed excessive wear on the high-speed coupler shaft of their Kenwook Prospero KM80 robot, and understanding the root cause is crucial in preventing this issue. The primary reason behind premature wear on the coupler shaft is the plastic adapter's insufficient length, which is situated below the accessories. As a result, it only comes into contact with the axis for a minimal distance of a few millimeters before the axis begins to wear out, break, and ultimately fail during machining (refer to the photo showing damage to the axis). To address this problem, simply extend the axis by approximately 5mm, ensuring it aligns with the base support of the accessory. This is particularly beneficial when printing in ABS plastic, as it facilitates easy removal through clipping. By taking this proactive step, you can avoid the need for future replacements of the axis, a situation many users have unfortunately encountered. What's more, this modification is also suitable for a significant portion of the Prospero model lineup.
