Kerf Tester

remix of a previous model. use this to measure the kerf of your laser cutter for various materials. set the laser to use the same settings you want to use for cutting your chosen material, then grab all the tiny rectangles and put them back into the slot. finally place the cover with two holes over the pieces to prevent them from scattering everywhere when you try to measure the size. secure the parts with m3 bolts and washers. write the speed and power settings used on the back, along with your calculated kerf. I have a drawer full of different materials that i can go back and reference. to calculate kerf: 1) measure the tab (should be around 110mm) record as 'A' 2) in the two slots provided measure the width of the combined rectangles, record as 'B' 3) kerf = (A-B)/10 now you can plug that into your cam processor to adjust for the laser kerf.
