Key-sized MicroSD card holder

Key-sized MicroSD card holder

thingiverse

This is a micro SD card holder designed to fit on your keychain. It is the same thickness as a standard key, and about as wide as a small key. The trickiest part to this print is there is a large, thin overhang that constitutes the micro SD card slot. What I do is let the printer build up the walls of the slot to at least 0.8mm, then pause the print and place the micro SD card in the slot. Then, when the printer does the overhang, your SD card becomes the support material! The print material does not stick to the SD card, and so once finished the fit is perfect. It is snug enough to prevent the card from falling out on its own--it takes a pound or two to pull the card. Print at 0.2mm layer height or smaller. Choose your perimeters/wall thickness such that the eyelet becomes solid plastic. For mine I used 50% infill. I generated this model with SolveSpace, and included the source file should you wish to customize it :)
