Kitchen Knife Block

<p>This is a knife block custom designed for our set of knives, new &amp; old. I wanted something more modern than the traditional wood block. On the backside it will hold a recipe, phone, or tablet. I have included the SketchUp files so that it could be modified to fit other knives.</p> <p>Current design pieces are labeled v1.1<br/> My first design became unstable when the two largest knives were removed. I had to move the base further toward the center of gravity. I attempted to restrain the first design to two pieces and 200mm bed. Version 1.1 has many more pieces, and is a bit more "block" looking.</p> <p>Back story:<br/> My wife made a comment about not having a knife block. We have an odd assortment of knives, new &amp; old, so any block off the shelf would be a compromise as to which knives would fit. I took a day to design this, and another day to print it out in red PETG to match the kitchen appliances.
