Kitchen Tap Handle

Kitchen Tap Handle

My kitchen faucet started leaking drops of water some time ago and so I decided to change a cartridge. It proved to be not a straight forward task as I did not know a model of the faucet and a compatible cartridge. All I knew was a brand - Franke. On the surface, it looked like [Franke Active Plus](https://pvb.pp.ru/b.php?item=franketap). However, again, there are dozens of different models and this specific one was installed 15+ years ago. No one really knows what it is anymore. Removing a handle proved to be risky as the handle soldered into the cartridge over time and I broke the binding inside the handle when removed it altogether with a part of the old cartridge. Buying a new cartridge proved to be easier than I expected. Locating a compatible cartridge when you have an original one was quick in a local housewares shop. At the same time, finding a compatible handle in the same shop proved to be a mission impossible :( Since I still had a broken original handle and found https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4548763, I decided to try and re-create the handle. [**@Petrichormarauder**](https://www.thingiverse.com/petrichormarauder/designs), big thank you to you for sharing FreeCAD file! With that I had an easy start. Although, I changed a lot to get to my actual handle, but a source file made this journey a joy. AND IT WORKED!!! Not sure for how long this ABS like resin will last, but imho it turned to be a very nice and colorful replacement of the original one ;) Anyone finding yourself in a similar predicament and wishing to rely on existing models rather than creating from scratch, please use FreeCAD to open TapHandle.FCStd and adjust the sizes in "s" spreadsheet to your use case. Please refer to https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Spreadsheet_Workbench I eventually was able to re-use the original screw that sits inside the internal wall of the handle. If you are using a different screw, please consider updating the sizes at rows 12 - 14 of the spreadsheet. For this and other my DIY projects, I purchased [a large screw set](https://pvb.pp.ru/b.php?item=screwset).
