Knife sharpening clamp

This is a knife sharpening angular assistance clamp. All other sharpeners relied on multiple metal rods and were not easy to transport, e.g to vacation. And they were not able to handle my DMT Diafold. DMT offers a clamp, too, that is almost always out of stock and quite expensive, so I designed my own. It works with my diafold from Wish, too. You will need some additional parts. For the clamp: - a M8x40 screw (35 might be sufficient, but not longer! ) - a M8 nut - two washers I advise printing some of these wingnut adaptors: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2121898 For the stone holder: - a 3.5mm rod, I used a shashlik skewer - 4 magnets, 2.5 mm thick, 5 mm diameter or - 1 Magnet 14 x 20 mm - Glue The stone holder is designed for a DMT Diafold. If you have other magnets or stones just build your own if needed. Insert the stopper into the clamp to guide the alignment of the knife. Clamp in your knife and use the rod in the guide to achieve a constant angle for the stone. The design allows a flipover to sharpen both sides of the knife w/o the need to unclamp it. One guide might be sufficient if you flip it over to the other side of the clamp. PS.: The photos are from my first development version. Edit 26.06.2022: Resized stopper to allow a move further forward of the cutout in the clamp. Edit 27.06.2022: Added a clamp without cutouts and thus stopper. Useful for knifes with an uneven back. Can be used for all knifes. My stopper fell off sometimes but the knife kept in place. Edit 28.06.2022: Added more stone holder with holes at the bottom to keep the magnets away from the stone. Added a holder for square magnets (14mm x 20mm).
