I really liked CNCKitchen's design, but I wanted some extra refinements, making the construction a bit simpler, using not so many different types of screws. ## Changes from V2.1: - redesigned handle for quick switching of stones. - moved legs forward 2 cm for extra stability - added hole on bottom for adding a 40mm [suction cup](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000434397217.html) - tighter tolerances for 10mm tube holes. - tighter tolerance for guide-slot. - changed screw-mount for vertical tube to press-fit. - added a cap for vertical tube. - capped holes on feet. - added user Badpassword's guide (great print-in-place design) - optional 10mm handle & guide so you only need 1 size tube. - Created smaller angle guides, you need these to be able to set the angle on the knife itself, to compensate for knife angle. ## Hardware needed: - 2x 10mm diameter x 180mm aluminum rod/tube for the body - 6mm (or 10mm) diameter x 280mm aluminum rod/tube for the handle - 1x M5x20 hex head bolt + Washer + Thumb Nut for knife guide. - 1x M5x 20 hex head bolt + nut for handle - glue to fix rods in place. - 10x 10x2mm disc magnets (optional) - optional 40 mm suction cup for extra stability ## Sharpening Tips: - get a set of stones for example 1000,3000 and 6000 grit. Start from lowest grit. - Soak stones before sharpening. - sharpen one side of blade until you can feel a burr, then change side, then move to higher grit. - only apply pressure on the push stroke. don't apply pressure on the pull. - cover about an inch every stroke, work your way along the blade. - keep the blade edge parallel to the sharpener edge.
