As Creator of Learning and Discovery Experiences at Westport Library's MakerSpace, this project comprised my six-week position. Together with staff and patrons, we designed and crafted cardboard chess-piece costumes that doubled as art pieces. I captured the participants' likenesses using Autodesk 123D Catch software. I edited the generated meshes within Meshmixer, and subsequently repaired any imperfections in Netfabb to prepare them for 3D modeling. Each resulting model was imported into Tinkercad where it was carefully merged with a base element. For additional details, refer to monograph.io/joshburker/community-chess-set or https://www.flickr.com/photos/senorwences/albums/72157658496957881 I utilized my MakerBot Replicator to print the chess-piece sets on library premises. Using ABS material at a .3mm resolution and 10% infill setting, I produced durable prints with precise details that were resistant to wear and tear.
