I always struggled to find nice knobs for potentiometers until I realized I got a 3D printer. Since years.
The following work is the result of a OpenScad frenzy which led from a simple knob to a heavily overloaded customizer.
You can choose between several different indicators. From left to right columns in overview:
- no indicator
- full disk
- tick
- volume
- colored fan
- or any SVG
You may also choose between a polygonic or a grooved outline. And of course all possible sizes for all possible applications
The indicator height should be chosen to allow for two (or more) layers of a different color.
For best results it is recommend to print a white layer, a coloured one, another white one, and so on. Especially if printing dark colours on each other.
