Skeleton of a Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus), showing off their long flexible limbs and unusual grasping hands. These characteristics are essential for a species adapted to life in the treetops where they feed on eucalyptus leaves. Specimen Number: MUPC2 (Monash University Anatomy Teaching Collection). Scanning and data processing: Scanning was performed by Hazel Richards using a Siemens Somatom GoUp medical CT scanner at Monash Biomedical Imaging, a Technology Research Platform at Monash University.
