Kobo Mini Light Shield

Kobo Mini Light Shield

This is based on the work done by some of the people on this thread: * https://forum.xcsoar.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1551&start=50 They discovered that sunlight was causing the IR touch detection on the Kobo Mini to lock up when used in a glider. This simple light shield does not block the edge of the screen and serves to physically protect the screen. It seems to improve touch detection somewhat even when the Kobo Mini is used in normal lighting. The inner curve is intended to throw any reflections out of focus (PETG was used to insure the shield would sit flat and it is shiny). The colour used for the material was, of course, black. I used silicone RTV to glue it to the Kobo Mini as I happen to know that it will peel off if required. This light shield has been used for a fair number of flights and the lockup problem has not reoccurred.
