Konami made several beautiful Space 1999 Eagle Replicas in the past several years. They measure just over 11cm in length and are just gorgeously detailed for their scale. This set of files prints a very nice display base for the Konami Eagle. It is based on the Landing Pad (for the tiny ERTL Eagles from the model kit) that I uploaded earlier. This was my original intent - to make this display base. The other diorama just happened by chance, happily. Print the Base, House and Extension in white. Print the Base_Black in black. Print the Base_Red in red. The two bases snap into place in the Base_White frame. NOTE: The pin holes are not aligned perfectly. They should allow for only ONE valid orientation. (I put a tiny notch in the upper left hole of the red base just so you can orient it correctly on the print bed, so that surface is facing up for a better surface finish.) There are two configurations of the smoke trails for the lift-off smoke - one flat, for an even lift-off display, and one tilted upward for a more dramatic lift-off. Choose whichever you wish. Photos here show both configurations. It is also possible the four individual smoke trails may be usable in other combinations I have not tried for a more gentle lift-off, or even by turning them around, a nose-down approach. You are free to play around. I did not model nice snap points. I'm afraid glue will have to be used to complete this model kit, and my favorite is clear binary epoxy cement. Krazy Glue works pretty well too. You must, sadly, supply your own Konami Eagle. Instructions This was an alteration of my own model of an earlier upload, Thing #129700. This adds pegs to the base, holes to the two deck levels, which fit into smoke trails I modeled using the Sculpt tool in Maya to get a reasonable rocket trail. The idea is a forced-perspective view on a lift-off of a Moonbase Alpha Eagle. In reality the pad below would have to be about 15 inches in diameter, not including the housing extensions. I printed mine with the house, base and extension in a creamy white, while the rocket trails are a semi-translucent natural color, for a better smoke trail. Then the two deck pieces are in black and red. The smoke trails may be nice in clear filament. I've never tried that one. Note: On an Afinia printer, a flat surface is printed on a diagonal. Because that didn't work well with the metal plating idea of the red cross landing platform, I rotated it 45 degrees so the printer printed on the correct axes for this piece.
