what comes to your mind when you hear the word "Video Game"?Grand Theft Auto? Call of Duty? FIFA?these are all some of the most prominent video games ever made. but hardly any video game series is more recognizable and rich in history than Super Mario!it was Super Mario that created the "gamer community" as we know it today and its legacy is unmatched and millions of people got into the world of gaming through one of Super Mario games.There are still millions of active players in the speed run community who are playing the Super Mario series and just recently many progress have been made in lowering multiple world records. (you can watch Summoning Salt's video about new world records in Mario Kart here: https://youtu.be/mAh4IJysiLU)yet, with such a big audience, no mouse in the market targets this community. so here I present the Koopa Mouse!this mouse is resembling one of the most iconic characters in the history of Super Mario World and needs no introduction. The Koopa Shell!the shape of the design has been altered to mimic the silhouette of a gaming mouse while maintaining the ratios of the original Koopa Shell design. more detail in the provided material.the shell pattern has been shifted to create symmetry in the mouse and use shell tiles as Left and Right clicks. this requires fewer cuts in the design and results in a better quality of the manufactured part if injection molding is used since the cut is already in the seams of the shell.the materials and textures used are replicas of the original Koopa Shell 3D render published by Nintendo and with the power of Stratasys PolyJet technology, the printed mouse will look and feel exactly like the Koopa Shell and once you hold it, you'll feel like you are holding a character from your favorite childhood memories. A nostalgia no other gaming mouse could match!this has been a great (and unexpected) experience for me! I remember I was just scrolling through Stratasys website to find internship opportunities for when I graduate and then I saw the flyer of this competition and decided I would participate. after avoiding it for the longest time, during this month I worked for hours on end in the sculpting and surface modeling environment and I believe they might be my new favorite modeling spaces! and I could finally get my hands on KeyShot! such simple and powerful software!
