Hi All This simple hack uses some limit switches to monitor the arms on a delta printer. Should the print head ever crash for whatever reason, the printer would pause, instead of bashing the arms around for hours. Only had 2 crashes in 1.5 years, 1 i think was a power glitch, and the latest was the wires catching on the print itself. Fixed the wires by attaching them to one of the arms via rubber bands. The switches hook in electrically, by simply passing the filament sensor signal through each switch. I'm running Repetier version 0.92.9 for the jam detect feature. Working out well so far. Haven't printed Rev 2, but i think the angled section will help stiffen it up. No issue yet on mine. This takes some PTEF tubing for 1.75mm and 3mm filament. You have to cut an open notch in the 1.75mm tube for the wheel to contact the filament. I extended it out and then encapsulated it in the 3mm tube, which i had to cut along its length and then wrap over the smaller tube. Reason i wanted this encapsulate the filament and drive it backward under the wheel. I was concerned 7mm of retraction causing a bend might tend to break pla. Its working fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtVUUG3mnSo Print Settings Notes: I printed it solid, just to make it as strong as possible so i don't break it when lowering my enclosure over the whole printer. I also suggest an acetone vapor bath. Just started playing with PETG, that stuff is tough. Might be good to print this in that material.
