Kryptonite Evolution Bike Lock Frame Mount

Kryptonite Evolution Bike Lock Frame Mount

I struggled with the Kryponite frame mount so I decided to design my own (they really need to look at this again - it just doesn't work on a lot of bikes). D locks are way too heavy if you carry them in a rucksack, so I looked at mounting it on the bottle cage screws. The bar can easily go in a small under saddle bag but the D will fit inside the frame. The trick was to make it lock in so that it didn't rotate and fall to one side. The design is based around the Evolution Standard 14mm thick D lock, so it may work with some others in that series. Put in angled from the side, straighten to vertical and push down and the shaped end of the rod will lock into the bracket. I printed some prototypes in PLA and then a final version in PET with a 40% infill as it needs to be strong. I've used it very successfully for a while now, and am working on a design that can also carry the lock bar.
