I'm really excited about my new lightsaber keychain model - it's one of the first ones I've created! I've tried out a few different variations on the design, but this one seems to be the best so far. It's not an exact replica of anything in particular, though. There were a few slightly different versions. **Print Settings** * Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 * Print with raft: Yes * Supports: Not necessary * Resolution: High (0.1mm) * Infill: 15% **Design Notes** When printing vertically, you might not need supports at all. Without them, the handle will be really clear, but the exhaust limbs on the sides won't look as great. With supports, it'll take a lot of cleaning and will look pretty messy - so print with the key loop facing up. When printing horizontally, no supports should be needed, but some details might get lost to the raft function. **How I Designed It** To design this model, I used Inventor 2016 Professional. Essentially, I worked layer by layer using really simple tools like extrusions, lofts, and offset planes.
