Enhancement project for the old Kyosho PureTen Alpha3. Steering arms: The stock steering arms are bad. Theres no possibility to add any kind of bearings in there. Just plastic over brass standoff with huge slop. So. I quickly created a custom steering arms. The steering geometry is stock, i didnt modify it. What you need with these arms: - Kyosho adjustable servo saver: TR133 - 2pcs of 5,8mm ball studs from Kyosho + ball ends for those - 1pcs of M3 hex screw ( you will joind the ball ends with this screw and the combination is your ackerman plate). - 2pcs of M3 threaded 5mm OD and 35mm length aluminum standoff from ebay. These are usually tight fit with the ball bearings, so you may need to sand of the anodized surface from these standoffs. - 4pcs of 2,5mm (height) x 5mm (ID) x 8mm (OD) bearings. And, you need to shave off 2,5mm from the upper decks right plastic post, to get the clearance that the adjustable servo saver needs. If you dont know what i mean, you will see it when you assemble the steering arms and upper deck. The original steering shafts are 6mm od. These new from ebay will be 5mm. You wont need any shims in there. Once you tighten the screws, the screws and pressure will keep those steering shafts in place. The wont move. I have tested it. With this mod, the wont be any kind of slop in the steering bellcrank. Tip for worn out hinge pins/plastic arms: Buy a 3mm titanium rod from ebay and make your own hinge pins from those rods. They are slightly over 3mm, which covers the tear and wear your original parts have. These arms are designed for the EP model and wont propably work with GP. Edit: Added C-Hubs. Stock geometry. Only modified the upper ball joint area from 6mm to 8mm. Works fine at least in my drifter chassis. Drill the hinge pin hole with 3mm bit, king pin holes with 4mm bit and upper camber arm hole with 2,5mm bit. Enjoy and post a make please.
