LABO VR to VIVE Lens adapter

LABO VR to VIVE Lens adapter

**This is an experimental adapter to fit the Nintendo LABO VR lenses on the HTC Vive.** It's the same idea as the [GearVR lens adapter](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2837804); I thought it would be interesting to see if similar results could be found with the Labo lenses. The Nintendo LABO VR lenses have a very fine Fresnel design similar to the Oculus Go. The view of the screen is clear and focused from edge to edge, but still has "god rays" in high contrast areas like the vive lenses do (the GearVR lens does not suffer from that at all). The LABO lenses are bigger than the Vive lenses and huge compared to GearVR lenses, so there should be no reduction in field of view. *After a quick test I would say they would are better than the Vive oem lenses (if the distortion profile was better), but I don't think I will replace my GearVR lens mod with them.* **Installation** Should anyone still want to try, do so at your own risk! Removal of the labo lenses from the Nintendo lense frame was pretty straight forward - I just pushed them out from the back side, pressing near the edge and slightly twisting the frame. It took a bit of force as the lenses are glued to the frame. I managed to chip the edge of one lense slightly. Some glue remained stuck to the edge of the lenses that needed to be peeled and scraped off in several places (that is glue in the picture where the knife is pointing, not a plastic tab). I didn't try any solvent to, but it's possible alcohol would help (do not use acetone it will ruin the lenses). Once they are cleaned up, the Labo lenses can be pressed into the vive lens adapter (rough side down) with a bit of thumb pressure. It holds them pretty securely. Check Sweviver's youtube video (or others) for more detail on how to remove the vive lenses and update the distortion profile. . **The lens distortion profile stored in the Vive *must* be edited to use theses lenses** They are very different from the Vive (and GearVR) lenses and the view is very warped without editing. Instructions how to do that can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/86uwsf/gearvr_to_vive_lens_adapters/dwdigxa/), but the profiles for the GearVR lenses will not work. *Don't forget to download and backup the OEM profile from your Vive before you edit anything!* I made a quick [distortion profile here](https://pastebin.com/TWrpQ4mX) (for the vive not vive pro). It is far from perfect, but will get you most of the way there if anyone wants to try to fine tune it using [sencercoltu's tool](https://github.com/sencercoltu/steamvr-undistort).
