Lace Lock / Toggle / Cord Lock

Lace Lock / Toggle / Cord Lock

thingiverse

This design came about after a toggle broke on a wakeboard I borrowed. Searching Google and Thingiverse returned no results a 3D printable toggle. After further searching the internet, I found the key word for this broken item is a 'lace lock'. I've designed this part to have strong sides for added strength needed on a wakeboard binding. Be sure to take note of orientation when printing, certain orientations of the item(s) will result in support material which is difficult to remove! I've successfully printed several of these items on my Up! Mini Printer out of high impact ABS filament. Instructions Simply print the 2 parts (I used 0.2mm resolution on an Up! Mini, with 5 layers for the surface and a solid fill). I've found the optimal orientation for printing which results in the least support material is to print the: Inside part so the gear is vertical with a flat side of the hexagon facing down. Outside part so the object is tall with the narrow end at the bottom. Once the 2 parts have been printed and cleaned up, gently put the item together as shown in the image.
