I wanted to make a lighting system in my Lack enclosure using commonly available LED strips. I have seen a lot of people using them but have noticed (and experienced) a few problems: 1) People use either hot glue (it didn't hold well for me) or clips to hold the strips in. This didn't have the clean look I was looking for. 2) Mounting the strips flat to the table bottom requires you to cut the strip at the designed spots and solder small wires to them so you don't bend the strip sharply and break the connection. 3) The LEDs themselves are quite bright and piercing if not diffused with some kind of filter.
