Lack Enclosure Magnetic Door Knobs With Captive Disc Magnets (8x3mm)

thingiverse

This is a remix for the magnetic door knobs used with Prusa IKEA Lack enclosure for Prusa i3 printers. I did not have the rectangular magnets used in the original design, but I had an excess of 8mm (diameter) x 3mm (thickness) neodymium disc magnets. In this design, the magnets are fully captive inside the printed pieces. This prevents the magnets from falling out, and also ensures that they do not break from crashing into each other. Steps: 1) Mark the polarity of the 4 disc magnets with a sharpie marker. 2) Start the print. The pieces should be printed as indicated in the picture taken from the slicing software. 3) At a height of 11.2mm pause the print. 4) Place a small amount of super glue in each pocket before inserting a magnet. Make sure each magnet is facing the correct direction. 5) Wait for the super glue to harden. 6) Resume the print.
