Hello all, I am Joshua Starnes. I am a student of Application Development at Western Governors University. My passion is robotics and automated systems. This project is a Ladybug themed lawn mower project. I want to bring automated lawn care and landscape maintenance technology to the average customer. I am a firm believer that robotics are better received by giving them personality and making them friendly to their human users. At this time it will be avail as a printable ,but be aware that this is a large multiple piece print. I am developing this to one day be offered as a residential product. I am sure there will be a couple of major revisions and I will post those as they are available. The robot had a fully articulate head with moving eyes. 6 wheels drive the little bug across your lawn using 160 rpm worm gear motors. 3 RS550 motors drive edge trimmers across the front of the mower and a RS795 motor drives the main 10-12 inch blades. The batteries are 4 x 12 volt 9 ah batteries. 432 watt hours of power! Though it is intended to be a Lady Bug, with a small amount of changes mostly being a paint job change the robot could easily be a Lawn Mower Bee or Lawn Mower Beetle. At first I will post larger files ,but as they are refined and I am confident I will split up the prints into smaller parts for printing on the average printer. The printers I am using are Ender 3 Pro from Creality.
