Lake Michigan Car Ferry SS City of Midland 41 - Brio/Wooden Train

After taking my kids to ride the SS Badger across Lake Michigan my oldest asked for a toy car ferry to go with his brio trains. He really liked the SS City of Midland model that we saw in the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc because of the vehicles on the upper deck. This model is based on the SS City of Midland 41 and is made to carry brio trains in the lower car deck and a few hot wheels on the upper deck. It will fit 2-3 brio cars per side (4-6 total). Included are two docks, a male and female end. To attach the stern gate I drilled out the metal pin from push pins, pressed it into the stern gate's hole, and then glued to other end into the hull's hole. Make sure there is some resistance so that the gate moves and stays in place while up. The model is painted with simple acrylic paints from any craft store. Eventually I'll make a ramp to allow cars to be driven to the upper deck.
