I started this model with the base of the lamp, sketching the circle and extruding it. Then, I created the 'stem' of the lamp using the sweep feature. I added the spot for the light bulb to go by sketching a circle and extruding it and cutting out the center portion. Then, I used the linear pattern tool to create the indents on the stem. The last two details I added were the outlets on the base of the lamp and the cutouts in the base of the lamp where the cord would go.
