I used these parts to mount a 4" x 10' sewer pipe to a Lance 825 truck camper so we can store our 15' stinky slinky (Sewer Hose). This project is still in the testing and development stage so be cautious in using this as is. I am thinking about splitting the 10’ sewer pipe so other items could be stored in the other half and accessed from the front, creating two sealed chambers. Stainless steel carriage bolts are recommended, I had to use zinc plated because SS was not available. I used a 5/16” x 4” carriage bolts. I think a 5/16” x 3 ¾ would work better but I couldn’t find any.
Installation notes:
Clear silicone was used to install the adapter to the sewer pipe. Apply the silicone to the adapter, insert into the sewer pipe while rotating, and clean off any squeeze out. This method will ensure the silicone does not get pushed into the pipe where is harder to clean up. Drill two holes in the pipe for the mounting clamps, one round and one oblong. When mounting the pipe and clamps, tighten the clamp in the round hole first, and then tighten the clamp in the oblong hole second. This will aid in clamp alignment and ensure best fitment. Insert the carriage bolt from the inside of the pipe. Torque carriage bolts to about 60in/lbs. The cap tolerance is very tight so your printer must be aligned very well. Removal of 3d support material is essential and tedious. I also put some toothpaste on the cap as a grinding compound to help hone the cap to the adapter.
