Land Rover Mk3 WOMBAT carrier (British)

thingiverse

This is an adapted model of a series 3 Land Rover to act as a WOMBAT carrier - see other 'thing' - to 1:76 scale. The Land Rover was heavily adapted from a model in the Sketchup library, with strengthened axles and thin skin issues resolved. I then added the ammunition tubes and stops for the WOMBAT to make it useable. It represents a paratrooper anti-tank vehicle used 1960-1980 (roughly) by the British army, and is quite fun to have on a model battlefield. Design methodology follows previous 'things', using 3D Builder (Microsoft) and Sketchup (AutoCAD), and lots of photos from the internet... The windscreen should be mounted vertically, as can be seen from relevant photos that are readily available on the internet. The wheels are not quite correct (track tread wrong, and hubs a bit simple), so I will see if I can generate better ones in the near future. Enjoy! Revised wheel added - better tread. Photos of prints added (as they come off the printer, not tidied up).
