Langstroth Medium Bee Feeder

Langstroth Medium Bee Feeder

This in-hive feeder is designed to take up two frame widths in a medium box and holds around 3L. I've designed it in four separate pieces because of my printer bed limitations. One of the trough portions of the feeder has a small lip on it in order to fit the two troughs together and create a good seem to glue on. the support file will need to be printed twice. It's the same for each side. Didn't bother trying to key them together like I did with the troughs because they're more for supporting the weight at the ends and adding a little bit of rigidity to the overall structure. Each trough piece is roughly 255g and the supports roughly 35g each. Brings this project to about 800g filament to print. The cost savings isn't much from buying one, but it's usually the shipping that gets you from one of the normal suppliers. Plus, I just wanted to see how it would come out. One final note, these in-hive feeders usually have some way for the bees to climb in without drowning. For this, I heated a couple straightened paperclip ends and poked them through some plastic foundation and set them in the feeder. i realize there's a good chance they'll build some comb in there, but I'm willing to find out. they're spaced out about 1/2 inch apart inside the feeder. I've noticed some of my beekeeping designs have been getting some decent traffic. If you download, leave a like. Encourages me to keep posting designs.
