Laptop Desk and Organizer

The intended purpose of my 3D design is to target the students that work from bed during virtual learning and give them space for them to have everything that they need close to them. On the left side, there is a container where you can put pencils, highlighters, or colors, and the empty side that you can see on the left is for you to be able to write your notes and put your journals for the classes of the day. The empty space on the left will allow you to look at the screen of your laptop, which will be on the right of the design, while you take notes. On the very top of the desk, you can see that there are two drawers that makes it much easier to keep the small items such as earbuds, note pads, or erasers, and the flat top of the drawers give you the option to put additional items that can help you through your virtual learning journey. Lastly, you are able to see on the right side of the desk there is a bar that will keep your laptop from sliding from the desk, as well as the additional space that can serve to put your mouse, which also come with a bar to prevents the mouse from sliding due to the angle of the desk. The reason for the angle of the desk is because it will make you much more comfortable to work from your bed and hopefully help with the back pain when you add the height of it as well. This 3D design combines the ideas of working comfortably from your bed, having space of where to write your notes, and being able to stay organized all in one. studentdesignchallenge #studentdesignchallenge 1) The issues that I had to come up against was about being able to create a design that could give students the opportunity to have everything near them in just one piece. I received feedback from some of my classmates that gave me ideas and to solve their constraints while in online learning. I basically asked them what they were having trouble having when they were in online learning and the majority of them mentioned that they wanted to be comfortable in bed while also being able to take notes since some of our classes do involve us having to take notes. 2) If I had the opportunity to redesign this I would definitely want to be able to make the box from the left, the mouse space, and the bar that keeps the laptop in place slide on attachments because I feel like the majority of the items that companies create are best suited for righties and lefties are always ignored. This is one of the main reasons why my design is originally created for lefties. Making the slide on attachment will make it adaptable to everyone, therefore giving many students the opportunity to expand their space and be more organized while they are working from their bed. 3) 3D printing my design will certainly be of a lot of help because I will be able to see where my design has flaws and be able to fix them. If I were able to 3D print my design I would also have the opportunity to test it out and see if the angle of my desk is the adequate one for working from bed. This will also reveal if the purpose of the accessories added to the desk will actually be able to accomplish their primary purpose.
