This upgrade to support a larger bed on the Printrbot Simple Metal 1403. I have used it with a 12" x 18" bed and works great! It adds a 3rd 8mm rod and 2 more LM8UU to keep the large aluminum plate from sagging and wearing out the 4 stock Bearings. used the Stand from thing number 543482 to create the support bracket.http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:543482 Modified the bed rails from another thing but now that I go back I can not find it, If you created the bed rails let me know and I will give you the credit and link to the originals. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50% Post-Printing Instructions Print Bed Support and one left and right bed rail (With or without support cutouts). You will need an additional 8mm Rod the same size as the other 2 (Varies depending on the size of your bed in the x axis.) 2 LM8UU bearings and zip ties to hold them down. I used 2 M5 bolts and nuts to secure the support assembly to the frame. There are no holes, I just used a drill bit to drill out the plastic and metal at the same time to insure a tight fit. You may need a larger foot on the back of the printer to keep it from tipping depending on the size of bed you use. There are 2 versions of the bed rails, one with cutouts for a piece of 1/2" steel stock to help keep the large aluminum plate from bowing. Got it from Home Depot for just over 5 dollars. 1/16 in. x 1/2 in. x 36 in. Plain Steel Square Tube Enjoy.
