Laser Cut Chess Board with Compass Rose Inlay

14.5" x 14.5" Chess Board with a compass rose inlayed in the center. Designed to be made from 4 different hardwoods (see concept pic). The brightly colored sample pic was scaled down and cut out of 4 different colors of hardcard, and then glued together onto a piece of foamcore. Instructions After cutting out the board, I realized that the center ring with the alternating triangular pieces of wood were very difficult to work with. Next time I would just make that ring a solid color-- it worked the way it is designed, it just took a lot of work with a set of tweezers to glue down the hard word. After cutting out the pieces, you should glue them down to another piece of wood and finish it. I also tried clamping the pieces in between two pieces of plexiglass and that turned out pretty cool (sorry, I don't have any pics).
