Laser Cut Exit Sign

thingiverse

A small DIY exit sign designed and built for a makerspace rear door where lighting can be a problem when entering at night or when the lights are turned off. Signage is designed to illuminate the immediate area underneath if lighting is used within the sign. End Dimensions: -6"L x 4"W x 2.5"D Flat Pack Dimensions: -12.5"L x 8.75"W Instructions Designed for 1/4" ply or MDF it will also work with 1/8" material. There are cutouts on the top and bottom for air flow and lighting. The idea is to provide a small exit sign while also illuminating the area immediately underneath the sign for access at night or when no other lighting is present. Many options for lighting, a piece of red translucent plastic was used just behind the lettering for the traditional red glow. A standard light pigtail was mounted to the side and a 3" narrow 40W (Id suggest 24W or LED) bulb inserted there. Assembled with Epoxy and painted white.
