This is a desk lamp I drew for laser cutting on my Trotec Speedy 100R. It features a swivel base, pivot arm with adjustable angle and fully tiltable lamp through 180 degrees and swivel through 360 degrees. All files were put together in Corel Draw X5 Instructions I wanted a decent desk lamp, didn't like what was commercially available so I drew this from scratch! there's room for Improvement but the nifty thing about it is it uses a standard MR16 12v 3 Watt LED bulb!................ available everywhere ( DO NOT USE HALOGEN as this will get too hot ) I think it's all pretty easy to figure out,Files are all CDR X5 files. Sheet size is 600mmx300mm to fit the Speedy 100R with black for Engraving, Red as a primary cutline and blue as a secondary cutline ( you'll have to change these colours to suit your laser cutter if it's not a Trotec machine ). one and a half sheets make up the 5mm parts ( base and arms ) and a half sheet for the 3mm parts ( lamp holder, pivots, switch plates and Ac socket cutouts ) The pdf is a datsheet for a commercially available 12v PSU adaptor I used ( I broke this out of it's casing, there's artwork in the 3mm sheet for a PCB holder, it fits in the base ) Some parts are doubled up for strength, specifically the base legs, The On-Off Switch Mount plates, the pivot parts and some of the lamp holder parts these are meant to be glued together for extra strength so watch for those! All holes are either 6mm or 4mm. I used cap screws with Nylon locknuts and flat washers for assembly. I used a figure 8 AC PCB mount socket, 5mm for the outside then 3mm as a spacer and another 3mm cut to size for the rear dimensions............ the socket is fitted and all three pieces are glued together. The On-Off switch is recessed this is done using two pieces of 3mm perspex, the outer piece having a larger hole to accomodate the switch outer dimensions. Switch type is a standard press fit rocker switch. Use any 3 and 5mm material you see fit, I used scraps of different colour perspex that I had lying around hence the Technicolor!!! All I ask is if you build it post your own versions especially if you make some improvements Oh by the way to hold the MR16 Lamp in place, you need to get one of those spring clips they use in the standard ceiling mount downlighter fittings that are commercially available. They usually sell replacements at most hardware stores Enjoy!!!
