Laser Cut Organizer

Laser Cut Organizer

thingiverse

This design is like a smaller version of the Laser Cut Pencil Cup with Tray (no divider though) posted earlier in July. Another organizer we made for a family project (not posted online) had similar dimensions on one side of it. I thought it would be a nice little desk organizer gift to personalize and give to my team for the beginning of the school year. Files are set up for 6x12 wood (maple was used) and you will see that there are two options for making your own - creating 3 of them on four pieces of wood or a single organizer on two pieces of wood. Either way you will have extra space to add other items for etching/cutting. I had room to cut out the name of each teacher (e.g., "Ms. Gilbert") that I made into a connected piece. Milkshake font was used (outline text, ungroup, connect where needed) and names were sized to stick off either end of the front of the tray just slightly. Names of teachers are not shown in images. If you have a question about the process used for that part of the project, please feel free to reach out and ask! Organizer comfortably holds a large size smartphone in either the tray or cup. A pack of Post-Its fits in the front tray leaning slightly on the cup. Pens and pencils fit nicely in the cup. Multi-function organizer! Craft foam pieces were added to the bottom of the tray and cup to provide extra cushioning if it is used for phones. Want to make 3 at a time? Use the files that end in "x3_1", "x3_2", "x3_3", "x3_4". Want to make just one organizer? Use the files marked "x1_3_USE WITH SIDES ONLY FOR ONE ORGANIZER" and "x1_2_SIDES ONLY". REMEMBER TO DELETE THE HELPER TEXT (PIECE NAME) OR ONLY SEND CUTS! You could end up with every piece name etched onto it (totally fine if that's what you're into!). Please note that you do not need all of the files - just choose the best option (x3 or x1). Both creation options have plenty of extra space on the pieces of wood. ** Note: STL file is just the place holder for Thingiverse upload - there is no 3D model associated with this project :) ** Please give attribution and link back to me online if you create something!
