Laser Cut Skill Badge

Inspired by the adafruit skill badges and the 3D printed skill badge I thought I'd design a laser cut skill badge. Can't let the 3D printer guys have all the fun. All my items can be found on my blog http://msraynsford.blogspot.com/ Instructions The steps involved in making this badge neatly demonstrate some key skills for laser cutting. The text is an etch based process, the laser acts much like a normal printer cutting a series of dots in a row, building up the image one line at a time. The laser symbol is a low power cut which produces nice clean lines and is a lot faster than the etch process. The outline of the merit badge is a full power cut which completely separates the item from the sheet material.
