Laser Cut Winter Votive Lantern

Laser Cut Winter Votive Lantern

thingiverse

This is a laser cut winter lantern to be used with a LED votive light. It is cut out of 1/4" (5mm) plywood, with artificial velum diffusion paper on the insides. Note that two of the sides are smaller to fit inside the other two (larger) sides, and the inside "squares" are actually slightly rectangular and must be inserted in the correct orientation. Currently the "smaller" sides are 10mm narrower than the larger sides to account for 5mm plywood, if you switch to 2.5mm (1/8th inch) just subtract 5mm from the width of the larger sides and you may not need to modify the squares. Use wood glue to assemble the cutout parts and super glue (cyanoacrylate) to affix the diffusion paper to the insides of the lantern. The square with the smaller circle is the bottom and fits a LED flushmount votive candle insert, although I recommend you buy the votive LED first and then size that hole appropriately. The square with the larger hole goes under the star cutouts on the top piece and friction fits inside the lantern.
