Laser Engraver Jig -- Four Dice

Laser Engraver Jig -- Four Dice

thingiverse

I just recently purchased a 1000mw laser engraver which has a max engraving area of 38x38mm (pre-assembled with DVD drive internals and came with software). This amount of engraving area is perfect for set of four standard playing dice. Just print this jig and rubberband it (in two places) to the bed, plop the dice and and go. [Well you might want to measure your bed & dice and edit the OpenSCAD file to generate a new STL custom to your exact needs. This jig works for the blank dice that I personally have.. your's may be a different size.] EDIT: Added some photos. First one shows what my dice look like after printing and wiping black powder off with a wet rag. Then I brush on thinned down acrylic paint in wild sloppy fashion. After dry I rub them down on a very flat cotton disk cloth on a flat surface.. takes off all the paint except what's within the laser engraved recess. [Sometimes it is helpful to very slightly dampen the perfectly flat cloth with a couple drops of water -- helps take off the excess dry acrylic paint.] See the following thread if interested: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1671419/paint-filled-dice-100-laser-engraver
