I found this project on internet http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-laser-engraver/?ALLSTEPS (Instructables) and the problem was that I didn't want to spend on buying wood, then cutting them to fit the sizes I needed, so I decided to make my own feet, bed and everything I need to succeed in this project using almost everything recycled like screws, and some other parts. I design it simple, so anyone can see what it is about and if you find another CD burner or even one that just read but you want to use the actuators (motor mounted on a plate to move in one axis) I'm still working on the "X" axis and laser/marker mount, as soon as I get the laser mount that bought on internet I'll finish the design and upload the rest of the files. I wrote laser/marker mount because I also want this "XY" axis to be used with a maker so I can make small PCBs. I purchased it on this website:http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-1PC-New-5-6mm-T018-18x45mm-Industrial-Laser-Diode-House-Housing-Case-Lens/1401838276.html I'll be also adding schematics for a Laser Driver and the PCB layout so you can make it at home. Please, feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions, questions or comments and if you make one upload some pictures. Instructions I just glue the bed on top of the plastic part that move back and forward so I stays in place. The legs I screw them with the screws from the CD burner and I print some washers so the screw are tighten enough and they give stability to the platform. I just follow the instruction on the website:http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-laser-engraver/?ALLSTEPS and in this other one to have more references:http://www.instructables.com/id/MicroSlice-A-tiny-Arduino-laser-cutter/ Hope you'll make one. Please, feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions o comments and if you make one upload some pictures.
