This one is based on the triceratops puzzles that exists in countless, near identical versions on the web and in toy shops. I have no idea who originally made this puzzle. I needed a small yet rugged triceratops for kids to dig out during a dinosaur themed week at our Science centre. I used pictures from the web and a few different kits I had lying around as guides, but made several adjustments, not only to scale. Due to the thickness of the sheets I use, I had to carefully reconstruct the parts to make the kit go together. The drawing I made prints as a framed kit, and you can fit 12 onto one 18'' X 24'' sheet of 1/8'' MDF, plywood or acrylic for aspiring palaeontologists to enjoy. Instructions I drew the whole things with splines in Drawsight, from the kits I used as guides. The two "hip" parts are slightly different, one goes in the back, one in the front. Use them where you think they fit best. Two of the ribs have a thinner profile than the rest. They go in the front, to fit between the shoulders protruding form the front legs. I usually mount the rest of the ribs in descending size from the front. It doesn't look perfect, but I got tired of toying around with splines. Mount the bone neck shield to the head, then the neck, and finally the two sides of the head to avoid the neck conflicting with the two sides. I've thinned the neck to try to avoid this, but I'm not sure I took away enough material. Enjoy your dino!
