So i expanded my Shapeoko 2 to 1m x 1m + NEMA23's and had all the makerslide and motors left over. I wanted a laser for engraving wood so i printed and purchased a few items to make it into a CNC laser which my friend named the Laseroko. The machine is based on the MSB 3D Printer Variant Mark II found athttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:448686 Most of the machine pieces are from that page and then the additional custom Laseroko pieces are here. The attached text file is the post processor for the Vectric VCarve. As far as running the machine i find it easiest to use Chrome GCode sender to:- Home the machine Make a block at the optimal laser focus and jog Z to workpiece Zero Z M106 S4 to switch on the laser for alignment Jog the laser to the chosen zero corner Zero X & Zero Y M107 to switch off laser. I had alot of trouble using GCode sender for running the engraving so i put the files on an SD card and used the Reprap display mounted on the outside. The modified Marlin firmware to get it all work (With help from Jeff Likes Bagels) can be downloaded here.https://app.box.com/s/7ndwboz6j3p5z6xuubxhw9gojvujo3iz Due to the fact these lasers are dangerous i did build a wooden enclosure with a used machine interlock and e-stop to make it as safe as possible with young children around. Print Settings Printer Brand: Deezmaker Printer: Bukobot V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 20% Notes: Used Toybuilder PLA for most pieces
