High-quality 3D models of a realistic Lava Planet are available. All models have quad faces only, eliminating seam problems, poles, or pinching issues. Subdivision techniques can be applied without complications. Eight kilobyte PBR textures in PNG format cover both Metal/Rough and Spec/Gloss workflows (as seen in the final preview images). Four-kilobyte texture sets are included separately as compressed files. Real-world scale - kilometers. The V-Ray and Scanline versions of the models are available, each including cameras and lights for identical renderings. Cameras and Lights are isolated on separate layers for effortless selection or removal. 360-degree rotation animations are incorporated. The polycounts for different subdivisions are viewable on wireframe preview images. OpenGL Normal maps are included in separate zip files as an added option. Textures are divided into individual zip files to minimize downloading times. Extract the texture sets from compressed files and place them in the same directory as the max file to use. For a faster workflow, simply replace (overwrite) the 8K textures with 4K ones. The new textures will load automatically within Max software. Here is what each separate folder contains: The LavaPlanet02_textures_Gloss_8k folder holds: Diffuse, Normal, Reflection, Glossiness, Height, Specular and Emissive maps (total of seven textures, 8192 x 8192 pixels PNG). This combination totals 431 MB. Similarly, the LavaPlanet02_textures_Metal_4k folder contains: Diffuse, Normal, Reflection, Glossiness, Height, Specular and Emissive maps in high resolution PNGs. These images have a dimension of 8192 x 8192 pixels, taking up approximately 219 MB. Diffuse, Normal, Reflection, Glossiness, Height, Specular and Emissive maps in standard PNGs. This folder has a combined dimension of 4096 x 4096 pixels for its six textures and a size of 53 MB. The provided preview renders are made using the high-resolution Spec/Gloss textures in V-Ray and double subdivision meshes. The standard Scanline scene, however, includes no cameras but instead uses a basic light setup. Formats such as FBX, OBJ, DAE, and 3DS that can be exported have versions without sub-divisions or any materials/textures. Keep in mind, depending on the software you are using, your imported model might look slightly different. In some situations the mesh may appear triangular; thus requiring a manual reassessment of materials and textures to reach the exact same result as shown on the preview images.
