Lawnmower Beer Holder.

University of Canterbury.This idea was born one day when I was mowing the lawn, and got thirsty. Naturally I then went on to design and 3D print a beer holder that attaches to my lawnmower to solve this problem.The holder is approximately 130mm high and 110mm wide at its widest point. It was designed to be as elegant as possible, yet conserve on filament to be printed with minimal supports and be strong enough to hold a semi-full bottle whilst being pushed around a lawn. This design achieves all three.Initially, the segment of the relevant parts of the lawnmower was required to be modeled. The other components were designed around this skeleton.The holder was designed in 3 components that are printed separately and clipped together. Files are attached.I needed to print a couple of test clips the determine the correct dimension of the rod to ensure the holder would clip on tightly.The 'rotation stopper' is designed to have an interference fit with the bottle holder, but over time this has begun to loosen. A dab of glue is necessary to prevent this from falling out.This part surprisingly worked fine on the first print - printed on my FDM delta 3D printer - and took about 6-7 hours at .25mm layers.This beer holder unfortunately is only designed for my lawnmower. I will endeavor to make a more universal holder that more people can use on theirs.This actually works.
