LED Disc Golf Light

LED Disc Golf Light

thingiverse

This is an LED light for a disc golf basket. I created this so that I can play disc golf at night. We put this light on the basket and then we tape an LED to a coin cell battery and place it on the top of our discs. That way, we can track where our discs are as well. The LED light is composed of 12 LEDs. Every set of three is wired in series to a 9v source (6 AAA batteries). The four sets of three are wired in parallel with each other. The LEDs wired in series were connected by drilling holes through the LED ring and twisting the leads together. Add solder for a more secure connection. The cover is used to hide all of the wire connections. Ceramic magnets were glued in to the LED ring and a neodymium magnet was used to keep the battery pack on the steel basket. Because it is pretty dark out there, it doesn't take much light to see the basket (though the pictures don't come out very well). However, you can add another 3 AAA batteries (12V Total) for increased luminosity.
