LED Light Addon for IKEA Molnighet Ceiling Fan

I ordered several of these IKEA fans thinking that they had an led light in the bottom. :( I really like the fans though, so decided to add lighting to them. There's enough room down the center spindle of the fan to run an additional wire for the light, so I looked for an LED ceiling light with a lens that looked like it would fit. This is not a simple bolt together because it requires re soldering wires for the LEDs. This project came out really nicely and looks great. The light is plenty bright and aside from the layer lines in the print, it looks factory. Parts Required: * IKEA fan: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/molnighet-3-blade-ceiling-fan-plastic-white-90424274/ * HALO 5"/6" baffle down-light: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Halo-RL56-Series-5-6-in-Daylight-White-Selectable-CCT-Integrated-LED-White-Recessed-Light-with-Baffle-White-Trim-1221-Lumens/5001292429 * 2ft stranded wire for 120v * Printed Solid - Jesse "design white" PLA filament is a pretty good color match. Process: * Disassemble the led light - set your soldering iron to 370c to detach the three wires from the led board. It's a high-temp solder. Remove the screws under it. There's one screw on the bottom of the electronics box that has to be removed to pull it apart. * Replace the orange connector with a couple stranded wires for 120v ac - removing it because it's too tall to stuff into the bottom cover of the fan. * Remove the three screws around the bottom of the fan cover to remove it. * Dry-fit the led cover to it and mark the three holes to secure the cover. Drill pilot holes for them. * We'll need to screw the led board to the bottom cover of the fan too. Center it, and mark the holes so you can drill pilot holes. Also drill a hole where the wires will pass through. Then apply a little bit of thermal compound to the back of it and screw it to the cover. The metal fan cover will act as a heat-sink for it. * Jumper from the led board to the electronics box with three ~12" wires, through the hole in the fan cover, to the electronics box. You should be able to put the cover back on the electronics box now and set the color of the light you want. * Screw the new printed part over the LED board and install the curved piece and pop in the the translucent lens to finish it.
