LED Ring Light Power Supply

LED Ring Light Power Supply

thingiverse

I wanted a simple power supply for my milling machine LED ring lights. I wanted to avoid splicing into the Mill's wiring and I wanted to avoid making or buying battery packs and worrying about where the charger went... So I chose to use our ubiquitous Ryobi 18V batteries as the power supply, so I remixed Matthew Winder's Blank Power Box design. I needed an adjustable voltage output of ~12 volts and a voltage display that was viewable from the front of the mill. I selected a LM25596 based buck converter board remixed the blank box to be able to mount the regulator on the side and cover it with a transparent cover to protect it from flying metal chips. I added a switch to the bottom side of the box, mounting holes on the sole plate of the box and called it a day.
