LED tree

LED tree

thingiverse

The original model was inspired by Thingiverse's design no. 7018; it underwent several modifications to achieve a more natural look. Printing the tree at around 35-50mm/second speed with approximately three shells and no infill allows light to pass through better. To create an enclosure for LED lights, locate or make one according to your preference. Install bright LEDs in the enclosure, replacing any stock white ones with a cooler blue shade if desired. For unlimited runtime, use a suitable power supply and add resistors if necessary. The existing switch on the "dot it" may not function after mounting the tree; therefore, install an external switch to avoid accidental shut offs. To enhance light distribution across the tree's height, drill a hole in its base and string another LED through the hollow center. Finally, attach the tree to the LED enclosure using clear glue or epoxy for the best results and enjoy the illuminated decoration.
